How to do it

Step the lead foot far enough forward to create a 90-degree knee bend.

  1. 1

Start in a kneeling position with a dumbbell in each hand at shoulder height, palms facing each other.

  2. 2

Step one foot forward and stand up, driving through your heel.

  3. 3

As you stand, clean the dumbbells to your shoulders by flipping your wrists so that your palms face your shoulders.

  4. 4

Lower back into a kneeling position in a controlled manner.

  5. 5

Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, alternating the leading leg.

Expert tip

Keep your core engaged and maintain a neutral spine throughout the movement to protect your lower back.
