How to do it

Plant both feet flat on the floor to stabilize your torso during the curl.

  1. 1

Sit on an incline bench with a dumbbell in each hand, arms hanging straight down, and palms facing forward.

  2. 2

Without moving your upper arms, curl the dumbbells up towards your shoulders.

  3. 3

Squeeze your biceps at the top of the curl.

  4. 4

Slowly lower the dumbbells back to the starting position.

  5. 5

Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.

Expert tip

Avoid swinging the dumbbells; use a weight that allows you to perform the exercise with proper form. Keep your wrists straight to fully engage the biceps.
