How to do it

Keep your wrist straight and aligned with your forearm throughout each rep.

  1. 1

Stand facing away from the cable machine with the handle attached at the lowest setting.

  2. 2

Grasp the handle with a neutral grip (palm facing in) and stand upright with a slight bend in your knees.

  3. 3

With a straight arm, lift the handle up in front of you to shoulder height.

  4. 4

Slowly lower the handle back to the starting position.

  5. 5

Complete the desired number of repetitions before switching arms.

Expert tip

Keep your core engaged and avoid using momentum to lift the weight; the movement should be slow and controlled.
