How to do it

Press the standing foot firmly into the floor to anchor your balance while curling.

  1. 1

Stand upright with feet hip-width apart for balance.

  2. 2

Bend one knee and lift the heel towards your glutes, keeping the thigh stationary.

  3. 3

Hold the top position briefly, then lower the foot back down with control.

  4. 4

Repeat for the desired number of repetitions before switching legs.

Expert tip

Perform the curl slowly and with control, focusing on contracting the hamstring of the working leg.

Common mistakes

  • ✕Swinging the lower leg up with momentum
  • ✕Shifting the thigh forward during the curl
  • ✕Leaning the torso forward for leverage
