How to do it

Stack your hips directly over your heels throughout the press.

  1. 1

Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a barbell at the base of your neck with a wide grip.

  2. 2

Press the barbell up and overhead to full arm extension.

  3. 3

Lower the barbell slowly back to the starting position at the base of your neck.

  4. 4

Keep your core engaged and avoid arching your back excessively.
