How to do it

Wrap both hands around the backs of your thighs instead of the kneecaps.

  1. 1

Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor.

  2. 2

Bring both knees to your chest and hold them with your hands.

  3. 3

Gently pull your knees closer to your chest to deepen the stretch.

  4. 4

Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds.

  5. 5

    Release and repeat if necessary.

Expert tip

Breathe deeply and relax into the stretch, never forcing your knees down but allowing gravity to assist you.

Common mistakes

  • ✕Flaring the knees apart during the pull
  • ✕Lifting the head and shoulders off the floor
