How to do it

Flex the ankle of the raised leg to point the toes upward through each rep.

  1. 1

Lie flat on your back with your legs extended and hands underneath your glutes for support.

  2. 2

Raise one leg off the floor to a 90-degree angle, keeping it straight.

  3. 3

Lower it back down slowly without touching the floor.

  4. 4

Repeat with the other leg, alternating each time.

Expert tip

Keep your lower back pressed into the floor to prevent strain and ensure your abs do the work.

Common mistakes

  • ✕Bending the knee as the leg fatigues
  • ✕Resting the lowered leg fully on the floor
  • ✕Swinging the leg upward with momentum
