How to do it
Pause one full second at the top of each crunch before lowering.
- 1
Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
- 2
Place your hands lightly on your thighs.
- 3
Contract your abs to lift your head and shoulders off the floor, sliding your hands up to touch your knees.
- 4
Slowly lower back down to the starting position.
- 5
Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Expert tip
Focus on using your abs to lift your torso rather than relying on momentum or neck flexion.
