How to do it
Swing your arms overhead to match the timing of your jump.
- 1
Stand with feet shoulder-width apart.
- 2
Squat down, bending at the knees, not the waist.
- 3
Propel yourself upwards and slightly forwards into a jump.
- 4
Land softly on the balls of your feet and immediately squat down to repeat the movement.
Expert tip
Engage your core throughout the movement to protect your lower back and ensure the momentum comes from your legs and shoulders.
Common mistakes
- ✕Knees caving inward during the landing
- ✕Torso pitching forward over the thighs
- ✕Landing with flat feet instead of the balls
