How to do it
Relax the muscles of your forearm as you ease into the stretch.
- 1
Extend your arm in front of you with your palm facing down.
- 2
Use your opposite hand to gently press down on the outside of your hand, directing your hand towards the ulnar side (little finger side).
- 3
Hold the stretch for 15-30 seconds, then release and repeat on the other side.
Expert tip
Keep your arm fully extended and your wrist in a neutral position before starting the stretch to avoid any undue pressure on the wrist joint.
Common mistakes
- ✕Forcing the hand down too aggressively
- ✕Rotating the palm away from facing down
- ✕Allowing the torso to twist sideways
